Up in the Sky
By: Preston Wilkin
Up in the sky
Stood a tower so high
And a little away
Stood its twin clear as day
The towers great height
Gave some men a fright
But one had a dream
To cross on a wire not a beam
He prepared for years
Through blood sweat and tears
To cross on a cable
When he thought he wasn't able
And when the day came
He had no fear and no shame
To dance on the cable
simply because he was able.
Up in the sky
Between the towers so high
A man's dream was for filled
And left the whole world thrilled
This is a very well thought out poem. The flow of the poem is great, if I had not watched the documentary I still would have understood your poem because of how detailed it is. This is a wonderful poem, good job!
ReplyDeleteI think that the poem is very creative, and taking the time to make things rhyme showed that you were committed. I think that the process you took to create the poem helped make the poem rhyme. Overall, it was a very nice poem.
ReplyDeleteMy Poem tool about the same amount of time too. I just took the facts that were given in the youtube clip and pieced it together. However I did not actually didn't rhyme my poem. I like the progression of your poem how it goes from the towers to the mans dream to cross the towers.
ReplyDeleteHey Preston, I really enjoyed reading your poem! It's very catchy and also think it's very creative! When the poems rhyme, I believe the readers are more drawn in! Nice job!!
