The first thing that struck me was that the first website
I clicked on brought up a picture. This image gave you the notion that this
event was not one to be taken lightly. One of the first things I thought it was
important to remember was that there were other protests that took place before
this one. The people killed in this protest could have just joined in the cause
and were killed that day. A fact that I found interesting in my research was
the fact that China had scheduled this huge event with the leader of the Soviet
Union and he ended up having to leave through the back door. A third fact that I
thought should be remembered is that the protestors fought back. They threw
rocks and beat soldiers, and also set a military vehicle on fire. It wasn’t just
protestors that died that day. A final thing that I thought was significant was
that the identity of the “tank man” was never found out.

support this movement is getting.

believed in. it also shows just how extreme the measures the Chinese government
took to take back control.

I really like your first photo of yours. It almost makes me laugh, but like you said it shows how the people feel of there leader.
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way about how the media and pictures hit me. Nothing was taken lightly. I found that the people fighting back was also every important about the whole event.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that the identity of the tank man is unknown. I think it's interesting that the man in one of the most iconic pictures in history is unknown. I feel like there has to be someone that can recognize him.
