In May of 1989, close to 100 million Chinese students decided to peacefully protest in Beijing, China on the Tiananmen Square. The students were unhappy about how their government was being ran. The students of China were wanting to change the idea about their government. The Chinese students want a democracy government, instead of a communist government. As these students were peacefully protest, the Chinese government didn't like the idea. On June 4th, the Chinese security, police and troops marched to Tiananmen Square started harming the students. They were firing weapons and they killed roughly 1,000 people and as some tried to fight back, it didn't necessarily work. 10,000 people were arrested for not leaving. When researching the events of Tiananmen Square, I was really moved by these students. I believe when you put your mind to something, you can do anything. With theses students fighting for what they wanted, the outcome may have not been what they wanted, but at least people started to hear what they had to say. I believe because the students protested something that was very important to them, and their voices were heard, that it will eventually happen again. The history at Tiananmen Square made it all around the world. I believe even though they didn't succeed, that it was very important that they continued to protest and never gave up.

This is the picture I chose for the history of Tiananmen Square in 1989 because I think it's a very detailed picture of both sides. As you can see in this picture, the students are protesting peacefully and the Chinese troops are coming for them. This gives a clear view of both sides.
I really like that first picture you put for the Tiananmen Square protest. It really shows that it is the kids against the military. The kids did not have any advantage at all besides their numbers. It was a giant massacre every single day of the week.
