  1. I loved your icon of Times Square. I've been there before it's an absolutely a must see when you travel to New York. One thing you girls did really well on I thought was you brought Times Square to life. You really sold it by sharing what all takes place in Times Square. One thing I found interesting and just learned today when you mentioned the first New Year's was when the name was changed to Times Square. I love learning new information about New York because it is a wonderful city with lots of history! One thing I wised you would have done was maybe put some of your facts on your powerpoint. Just so the audience could read some of them. Overall, nice job.

  2. Your project was very interesting to me, I loved how you guys explained to us that Time Square was not always called Time Square. Also I thought it was amazing that people thought that the city was going to die out, but look at it now! It's competing with Las Vegas. I also really enjoyed the pictures that you put on the slide show, I thought that they were perfect for what you wanted to get across. The one thing I wish you would have done differently is maybe not read directly off your cheat sheet, but other than that I really loved your power point!

  3. I found your project really interesting. I have never been to New York City yet but I really want to go and learning this new information you provided only made me want to go even more. I liked how you touched on the history before it became known as Time Square. I never knew that it was settled by the Dutch and was called Longacre Square, so gaining that information was very interesting to me. The only criticism that I would have is to slow down a little in the beginning of the presentation. It felt like it moved a little too fast for me, but other than that great job!

  4. I really found our presentation very interesting. You did a great just explaining the history of time square and the area around it. The use of pictures was great because you explained each picture and only had pictures that showed how iconic it was. I liked how you explained the role lights play and how important they are and that there’s a minimum amount of light you need to use and not maximum. You guys did a great job showing that you know the info and explained why it’s iconic. I would have put more words explaining what was on the slide other than that great job on the presentation!

  5. Time Square is one of those places you always go to whenever in New York. I was born in Manhattan, so these pictures are almost nostalgic to me. I liked the pictures used and the explanations that were given with each one. If I could change anything about the presentation, I would try to put more examples of things you could find at Time Square. To show the amount of diversity there is there.

  6. I found the history of Times Square to be very interesting to learn about and how there is more security there after 9/11 happened. I would've liked to have seen more pictures of Times Square so that we all could've got a sense of what is there, but you did a great job at talking about the place from memory.

  7. Times Square does seem very iconic to me. Your presentation was very interesting with all the different pictures. The pictures really do say a thousand words, such as the navy man kissing the nurse. It was very interesting to here that Times Square has a minimum amount of neon lights you can have! If I had to critique one thing it would be that you didn't stare down at your paper on the podium.

  8. I liked how you talked about the history behind times square. I was not aware it was a Dutch town before. I felt like you guys did not know your facts because most I noticed you reading the majority of the time. I also did not see why it was an icon. I felt like you guys chose a great subject, but i feel like there was a lot more to be said.

  9. Having been to Times Square, this presentation was very relevant. I did not know it had such humble beginnings. You do not expect New York City to ever be "humble". You did a good job compiling interesting information and making it fun to learn about. Some of the information did not flow and fluency seemed to be an issue. Other than that very good work.

  10. I really enjoyed your presentation. I learned some new things about Times Square, which fulfilled the purpose of the assignment. I thought your use of pictures was a really nice touch, and you explained them all really well. You could tell you really knew what you were talking about. If I had to change one thing it would be not to take so many long pauses. I thought it was a really great, well thought out presentation.

  11. I liked watching/hearing your presentation; i've always wanted to go to Times Square, but have never had the opportunity so it was cool to learn about. I liked how you guys explained the signs and that there is no maximum, only a minimum. The only thing i would change would have to be to not have to spend time finding your information on the paper.

  12. One thing that i didn't know was that times square was actually called something other than times square. One thing that i would have looked more into was maybe more pictures to drive home all the views and images times square has to offer.

  13. interesting how they have minimal requirements for how much lights there should be. I liked your guys presentation and how it showed the progression of time square and what it has become. I would have liked to know some statistics and facts like how much energy is used and how many people visit it. good job

  14. This was a fun topic. I enjoyed how you took us on a mini timeline of Time Square and talked about how they have regulations and names for the enormous light signs, how interesting, it is obviously very commercialized, so I guess you do need those regulations. At times, the information seemed to slip and I became confused. I know there is so much going on in Time Square, I would have loved to hear more history behind it and some interesting facts. Maybe even how some of those companies were able to land such a prime spot in such a largely recognized area. Overall though, nice job.

  15. I really enjoyed listening to your presentation. I liked hearing about the history the most out of your presentation, such as how in the 1970's it was considered the worst block in town due to prostitution and crime rate. I really like how you also used helpful pictures to show time square. There was some paused speech during the presentation, but overall I really liked it.

  16. I have always wanted to go times Square. I have heard so much about it and it is on my bucket list of places to visit. I didn't realize how iconic it was. I just thought of it as a very busy city in America. The pictures you had on your slide show really added on to what you were saying and made me realize there is a lot more to it.
