“Unfortunately, to this day Seth is not the same
person he was before his accident. Seth is much more temperamental because his
head is always hurting and he cannot hear very well. He gets so frustrated
because he cannot remember a lot of information he used to know. This year, he
did not remember Chelsey’s birthday. He did not mean to he just was not sure
what the date was. He struggles every day, but I always tell him it could have
been worse. I always remind him to think about this situation in the most positive
way possible. I always tell Seth that he can walk, breathe and most all, he is
alive and not dead. After his accident, I really turned myself around in a
positive way. I started to appreciate life in every single way possible. I
always try to look at the positive side of things in everyday life. Seth’s
story has made me realize that life is short. Therefore, I want to live life to
the fullest. I want to enjoy whatever I do because I never know when it might
be my last day on earth. I’m so very fortunate that through Seth’s accident, he
still remembers me. He remembers all the important memories of us. I hope our
friendship continues to grow stronger than it already is. Every single day when
I wake up, I always tell God thank you. Thank you for giving me another day to
live and also thank you for not taking my best friend away from me. Through
this experience, I also grew closer to God because I learned to appreciate life
more seriously than I did before because you never know when he will call you home.”
2.) Some people think that YouTube is just another website to visit. I think YouTube is a great website to help us grow as individuals. I know it may seen corny, but think about it for a second. When you first navigate to the website, you can type in a wide-range of topics. From there, your search will bring up videos and music. There are many different types of music and videos that people can relate to. YouTube is so important to me and I feel it's worth understanding because everyone can relate to a certain video or song. The best thing about the website, is that you're in charge of what you want to watch or listen to. I personally think it's great because of the creativity it holds. The best thing about YouTube is whatever my feelings are for that specific moment in time, I know I can pull up whatever song I'm in the mood for. I'm the type of person that music really speaks to me in an unexplainable way. I just feel so connected.. that's why YouTube is my favorite website and I personally believe it's important for everyone to be connected to that website.
I think your essay quote was very powerful. I like how you described what was going through your mind at the time. I also like YouTube because you never know what you're going to find to be entertaining. There may be even something you remember from your past that you forgot all about and you can enjoy it again.
ReplyDeleteI loved what you had to say about YouTube, I agree with you that people just think its some website you can listen to music on but it really is so much more. There are so many things on there that so many people don't know about that could potentially change the way people think today. I also loved how you said that you feel so connected with Youtube, and I feel the exact same way.

I really liked your last sentence in saying that it helped you become closer to God. I think you're totally right because I feel like life is such a precious thing and we do take that for granted today. Thanks for that :)
ReplyDeleteI got to read your whole paper when we did peer review in class and I absolutely loved it. It is very clear how much he means to you and how much he changed your life. I like the section you chose to share, I felt like it expressed your feelings really well. I also like how you chose to talk about Youtube. I agree that everyone can find something they relate to.

I think it's wonderful when people are able to write their emotions through writing, plus it helps you put things in perspective. Seth sounds like an amazing person, and it's even more amazing that you are committed to him and helping him. I too believe music is very important and should be a part of everyone's lives. Your first hand account gives validity to YouTube and the benefits it has to connect people to what they are passionate and care about.
